Reality Star Unveils Refined Look After Medical Procedure
Courtney Stodden has proudly displayed the results of her recent nasal surgery, posing in a patriotic bikini at her California mansion. The 31-year-old television personality underwent the procedure in September to address both breathing difficulties and cosmetic preferences.
A Dual-Purpose Medical Procedure
The reality star confirmed to Daily Mail in October that she underwent a septoplasty procedure to correct long-standing breathing issues that had troubled her for years. While addressing these health concerns, Stodden opted for what she describes as a "very minor revision to the outside of my nose."
She emphasized that this wasn't a dramatic transformation but rather a subtle refinement performed alongside her necessary medical treatment. Dr. Gary Motykie, a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty, performed the procedure at his practice.
Stodden expressed complete satisfaction with the outcome, telling Daily Mail she feels "very happy" with her new look and considers it "the best decision" because she's now breathing better. This marks the second time the star has undergone nasal surgery, having previously had a procedure in February 2016 to correct a bump and address breathing problems.
Celebrating Sobriety and New Beginnings
In addition to her surgical revelation, Stodden recently celebrated a significant personal milestone - her first sober birthday as an adult. The Washington native disclosed that she hadn't experienced an alcohol-free birthday since she was 17 years old.
On her 31st birthday, Stodden shared with Daily Mail that she feels "incredible" about maintaining her sobriety journey. She added, "I feel stronger than ever and look forward to a healthy future. I honestly didn't think I would make it to 31 but here I am."
The star attributed her early exposure to alcohol to her former husband, Doug Hutchison, whom she married when she was just 16 years old while he was 51. Stodden revealed that Hutchison would consume "bottle and bottles of alcohol" daily and encouraged her to drink as well, which she believes was a method of control.
Stodden's mother, Krista Stodden, has previously expressed regret for permitting her teenage daughter to marry the much older actor. The couple's divorce was finalized in 2020 after nearly a decade of marriage.
The television personality, now married to movie producer Jared Safier, continues to be open about her plastic surgery journey while embracing her newfound sobriety and healthier lifestyle.
