West End actress Georgina Castle has shared the unconventional details of her post-wedding getaway, revealing she enjoyed a sun-drenched 'honeymoon' in the Maldives with her famous father, while her new husband remained at home in London.
A Family Affair in Paradise
The 33-year-old Mean Girls star admitted she 'crashed' her parents' romantic holiday just four months after marrying fellow actor Simon Lipkin, 39. Instead of a traditional newlywed escape, Georgina jetted off to the luxurious Indian Ocean destination with her father, former British tennis number one and BBC Wimbledon commentator Andrew Castle, 62, and her mother Sophia.
She posted a series of idyllic Instagram photos from the trip, showing her posing in a bikini on pristine white sand, hoverboarding across turquoise waters, and snorkelling among tropical fish. Further snaps captured the trio enjoying candle-lit dinners at a rustic beach bar and exploring the underwater world together.
Husband's Award-Nominated Commitment
Noticeably absent from the picturesque scenes was her husband, Simon Lipkin. The Olivier Award-nominated actor has been unable to leave his critically acclaimed role as Fagin in the West End production of 'Oliver!'.
Explaining the unique situation on social media, Georgina wrote: ‘I crashed my parents’ romantic holiday and went on a honeymoon without my husband!! I feel so incredibly lucky that I got to end the year like this & with family.’
She added a loving message to Simon, saying: ‘Simon I can’t wait for us to do something amazing soon… with a few less sharks you’ll be relieved to hear.’
A West End Power Couple
The couple exchanged vows in an elegant London ceremony four months ago, where Andrew proudly walked his daughter down the aisle. Georgina shared images of the day, showcasing her floor-length white lace gown and Simon in a classic black tuxedo.
They first met in 2022 while both working on the musical 'Elf'. Simon, known for roles in 'Rock of Ages' and 'Avenue Q', has previously joked about their relationship, quipping ahead of the wedding that he was 'punching above his weight'.
Georgina has enjoyed a meteoric stage career, starring in major productions including 'Mamma Mia!', '9 to 5' and most recently playing Regina George in the West End's 'Mean Girls'. Her father Andrew has often expressed his surprise and pride at her theatrical success.
