Former Traitors winner Harry Clark has suggested that comedian James Acaster may quit the show if the pressure of being a Traitor becomes overwhelming. Speaking to Oddschecker, Clark predicted a 50/50 outcome for Acaster, who has repeatedly stated he wanted to be a Faithful.
Acaster struggling with Traitor role
Clark, who won the 2024 series, noted that Acaster was seen as a dark horse at the start but may now "run out of steam". He explained: "He [James Acaster] was seen as a dark horse at the start, though I don't know if you can call him that anymore. The only thing with him is that he never wanted to be a Traitor. He always said he wanted to be a Faithful, so he could run out of steam."
The comedian has admitted he is a terrible liar and has continued to play "as a faithful", despite being recruited as a Traitor against his wishes.
Turning point ahead
Clark believes Acaster may soon reach a critical decision point. "The further he gets, the guiltier he might feel. It's a 50/50: either he relishes the role and loves the murders, or he decides it's too much and quits," he speculated.
Clark, who took home the full £95,150 prize pot by blindsiding his friend and fellow finalist Mollie Pearce at the final fire pit, also commented on other contenders. He thinks Maya Jama has the ability to turn on fellow players like he did, though it could "all come crashing down in one episode" if people latch onto a random theory.
Ross Kemp's paranoia could help
Clark sees Ross Kemp as another strong contender, noting that his repeated fears about being killed in plain sight could work in his favour. "You can't act that paranoid; you can't make that stuff up. He literally has 'Faithful' written across his forehead. So if he's recruited, he could go all the way because his cover is solid. Likewise, if he stays a Faithful and catches the Traitors, he could go all the way too."
Clark attributes his own success to military training, pointing to Leanne's Series 3 win after 12 years in the military and James Blunt's background as an Army officer. "Military training seems to be a secret code for doing well on this show," he said.
The next episode is due to air on Thursday night.
