Celebrity Traitors viewers were left emotional after Friday night's finale, as Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian "Bash" Croft were crowned winners, while James Blunt was banished at the very last moment.
The final episode of the BBC show aired on Friday (October 30), with the surviving Faithfuls - Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Romesh Ranganathan, Bash Croft and James Blunt - competing for charity funds. The Traitors still among them were Maya Jama and King Kenny.
Winners split £83,000 prize pot
After two roundtables, Romesh and Bash were the only remaining players, allowing them to split the prize pot of £83,000 evenly between their chosen charities. Romesh announced his share would go to the Refugee Council, while Bash directed his £41,500 towards Choose Love, which supports queer refugees and displaced individuals.
James determined his own fate during the final elimination by voting against ending the game, which led Romesh to vote for him, and Bash eventually turned against him after eliminating Kenny.
Viewers react to James Blunt's exit
Fans took to X to express their disappointment at James being banished right at the death. One person wrote: "Never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm so unbelievably sad for James Blunt, the look on his face at the endgame when he realised what he'd done actually brought me to tears."
Another posted: "Justice for James Blunt and Leigh-Anne." A third shared: "That final was AMAZING!!!! but.......why on earth did James Blunt at the last minute press the self-destruct button."
One viewer added: "James Blunt was robbed he should have been there to the very end," while another wrote: "James Blunt had me in tears at the final round table. His facial expressions when Romesh voted for him. Amazing TV so funny."
James Blunt reflects on the finale
James told the BBC: "I really enjoyed it. It was intense, like all of them. It was coming down to the wire, so it's like all of them, and there was a curve ball in there that completely caught me by surprise, which actually was fantastic gameplay by a person who was no longer acting like a Faithful but was actually acting as a true Traitor, but I was really happy with it, because you know, we've got the Faithful win."
The prize pot began at zero and climbed steadily throughout the series, with each successful challenge adding thousands of pounds. In the debut celebrity series in 2025, contestants amassed £87,500, with Traitor champion Alan Carr donating his winnings to Neuroblastoma UK.
Unlike the civilian version, none of the celebrity contestants keep the money themselves. The rules mirror the main series: if a sole Traitor reaches the finale, they take the whole pot; if all remaining contestants are Faithfuls, they split the prize equally.
