Netflix's 'The Witcher' has cast three new actors for its upcoming fourth season, including Sharlto Copley as the infamous bounty hunter Leo Bonhart, James Purefoy as the spy Skellen, and Danny Woodburn as the dwarf Zoltan, Variety has learned exclusively.
Copley, known for his breakout role in 'District 9', will portray Bonhart, a feared character from the novels. Purefoy, who has appeared in 'Altered Carbon' and 'Sex Education', takes on the role of Skellen, a high-ranking spy and advisor to Emperor Emhyr. Woodburn, best known for his role as Mickey on 'Seinfeld', will play Zoltan, a fan-favourite dwarf from both the books and video games.
The trio join previously announced cast members Liam Hemsworth, who replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, along with Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Laurence Fishburne. Production on season four is set to begin this spring.
Season three of 'The Witcher' aired on Netflix between June and July 2023. The official synopsis for the new season reads: 'After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other.'
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich returns as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. The series is produced by Platige Films and Hivemind Content.
