The Voice UK semi-final got underway this evening (October 24) with 12 performers competing for a place in the grand final, but viewers were distracted within minutes of the programme starting.
Audiences noticed that presenter Emma Willis was fronting two major television programmes virtually simultaneously. She is among the new Strictly Come Dancing presenting team on the BBC, with the most recent episode of the dancing programme concluding moments before The Voice UK commenced, which she also presents.
Viewers react to Emma Willis's busy Saturday night
One viewer observed: "Emma Willis is busy tonight #Strictly #TheVoiceUK." Another concurred, writing: "Saturday night is Emma Willis night as she's now on #thevoice on the other channel #Strictly."
A third audience member posted: "Emma Willis on both ITV and BBC at the same time tonight. She does know if she's on all the time viewers will lose interest in her. Less is more @EmmaWillis #TheVoice #strictly." Another joked: "Emma Willis running from the #StrictlyComeDancing studios to #TheVoiceUK studios!"
Major changes ahead for The Voice UK
Emma will not return to host The Voice UK next series, with Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon set to succeed her, reports the Mirror.
The present series will wrap up next Saturday (October 31) with an almost two-hour long episode, during which the champion will be announced and depart with a Universal Music Group recording contract and £50,000 in cash.
Next week's finale will also mark the final appearance of Sir Tom Jones, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones as coaches. Girls Aloud star Cheryl and rapper Aitch will take over from them next series, while Kelly Rowland and will.i.am will return to repeat the experience.
The Voice UK final airs on Saturday, October 31 at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
