Amazon Asks 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Fans to Stay Away from Movie Set

Amazon Prime Video has issued a plea to fans of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' to refrain from visiting the set of the upcoming movie, citing safety concerns and disruption to filming. The request follows reports of fans sharing set locations on social media after production began last month in North Carolina.

Unofficial photos of stars Lola Tung and Christopher Briney on set have surfaced online, sparking speculation about plot points. In a post on X, the official account for the series wrote: 'We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew.' The message was accompanied by a video of people writing 'PRIVACY PLEASE' in the sand.

This is not the first time Amazon has addressed fan behaviour. In a 2024 interview, then-Amazon TV chief Vernon Sanders spoke about past requests for fans to stop 'bullying' and 'hate speech' towards the cast, adding that the streamer aims to 'set expectations' for appropriate conduct.
