Susanna Reid confirms GMB break for half-term

Susanna Reid has confirmed she will not be on Good Morning Britain for the rest of the week, taking a short break from her presenting duties during the half-term holiday.

The announcement came at the end of Monday's programme on October 26, where she and Richard Madeley had covered the latest headlines, including an interview with Prime Minister Andy Burnham, described as his first TV interview.

Reid's announcement and Madeley's return

As the show wrapped up, Reid told viewers: "Now, I am off for the rest of the week." Madeley told his co-star to enjoy her half-term, confirming he would be back on the ITV show on Tuesday, October 27, alongside Ranvir Singh.

Reid added: "Thanks very much indeed for watching. You can catch up with that interview with the Prime Minister on YouTube. Now, though, it's time to join Lorraine. Have a good day."

Richard Arnold's return after mini-moon

The news of Reid's brief hiatus comes as the programme welcomed back Richard Arnold, who had been away following his marriage to Stuart in Hackney Town Hall in September. Last week, Rishi Davda had covered entertainment headlines in his absence.

Speaking about his mini-moon, Arnold said: "It was lovely, we got a mini-moon together, it was wonderful. After 21 years, how do you think it went? A lot of cups of tea, let's put it that way."

Arnold had announced the surprise nuptials on Instagram, sharing an image of himself in a kilt, which he revealed came from the Good Morning Britain wardrobe department. Discussing the day with Kate Garraway, he commented: "It was a prop for the Edinburgh festival years ago!"

Reaction and thanks

Garraway replied: "So you raided the prop cupboard, didn't mention a word when you were on Friday, went to tell your mum and then got hitched? On a relationship that was 21 years in the making?" Arnold responded: "Yes! We finally got there!"

He went on to thank the team, saying: "Thank you very much team for all the love and I do mean that wholeheartedly." Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
