Sugababes join Gogglebox for Stand Up To Cancer special

The Sugababes are set to appear on a special episode of Gogglebox dedicated to Stand Up To Cancer, airing this Friday (October 23) at 9pm on Channel 4. The original trio—Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy—will watch television together from their sofa as part of the one-off programme.

Sugababes reunite for the special episode

The band, known for hits such as About You Now and Push the Button, have reunited their original line-up and are currently working on a new album scheduled for release next year. The musicians will join Gogglebox regulars on the show, which aims to raise awareness of the work of Cancer Research UK.

Fan reaction and other celebrity guests

In a statement, the group said: "We are so excited to be part of Gogglebox together, a favourite show of ours, made even more special as part of Stand Up to Cancer." The announcement has drawn excited responses from fans, with one writing: "THIS IS AMAZING!!! I’m locked in," and another adding: "Yass! The original Sugababes line-up! My favourite."

Another fan commented: "Icons. Can't wait," while a fourth demanded: "Get them on everything." A fifth said: "So excited to see it."

Also joining the special is comedian and The Celebrity Traitors star Joe Lycett, who will appear alongside his aunties Margaret and Pauline. Lycett was recently ousted from the BBC competition series in a Round Table banishment after insisting he wanted to be recruited by the Traitors, which drew suspicion from his fellow players.

What to expect from the show

According to Channel 4's synopsis: "Nothing is off limits as Gogglebox continues to celebrate the simple joy of watching television together. They’ll be sharing hilarious, honest and often unexpected reactions to the week’s biggest television moments as well as poignant stories to raise awareness of Cancer Research UK."
