Strictly's Jaime Winstone Pulls Out of Live Show Due to Injury

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jaime Winstone will miss this week's live show after being advised by doctors to rest because of injury, the BBC has confirmed. The 41-year-old actress and her professional partner Carlos Gu will watch from the sidelines, prompting concerns among fans about the competition's future.

Fans Fear for Bethany Antonia

Viewers have voiced worries for Bethany Antonia and her dance partner Nancy Xu, who have already faced the dance-off twice this series. Jaime and Carlos, however, have been in the dance-off on three occasions, leading fans to speculate about the implications of the withdrawal.

Commenting on the announcement, one fan wrote: "Great, now Bethany is probs going." Another echoed: "Worst possible news for Bethany and Nancy."

A third said: "Jaime will probably leave next week anyway depending on what dance style she gets. She's been in the bottom 2 3 times. I'm worried for Bethany now though."

A fourth agreed on Reddit: "My guess is that Bethany is definitely in the dance off and I can't call the other celeb, maybe John or Will?"

A fifth posted: "Bethany going this week, then." Another added: "Awh noo that sounds painful, hopefully she can come back next week. Unfortunately this doesn't look good for Bethany & Nancy.."

BBC Statement and Bye Confirmed

Issuing a statement, the BBC confirmed Jaime would be missing the next live show. "Due to injury, Jaime Winstone has been advised by doctors to rest, and, as a result, she will not dance in this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing."

They explained that in line with the rules of the show, Jaime will receive a bye through to next week, when it is hoped she will be fit to dance again. The BBC added: "We wish Jaime the very best as she continues her recovery."

Jaime's Statement on Her Injury

Addressing her withdrawal, Jaime explained that she has a torn abdominal muscle, but is "praying" for a speedy recovery. "I am absolutely devastated not to be dancing this weekend due to a torn abdominal muscle. I am in considerable pain, and my doctors have advised complete rest to give my body the best possible chance to heal," she said.

"As frustrating as it is, I have to put my health first and follow their advice to step away from dancing this week. I love every moment of dancing and performing with Carlos, and I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey."

The EastEnders star added: "I want to thank everyone for their incredible support so far. It means more than you know. Wishing everyone on the show all the luck, love and strength for Saturday night and I hope to be back on that dance floor very soon. With love, Jaime."
