Strictly's Carlos Gu appeals to viewers after third dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing professional Carlos Gu has appealed directly to fans of the show after he and celebrity partner Jaime Winstone landed in their third dance-off. The actress and her partner made it through to week seven of the BBC One contest, which takes place this Saturday (November 7), after surviving the first-ever triple dance-off.

First Triple Dance-Off in Show History

For the first time in Strictly's 22-year history, three couples were placed in the dance-off and forced to dance again to stay in the 2026 competition. The change was announced ahead of the Halloween special on Saturday (October 31), with the three couples receiving the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes facing elimination, instead of the usual two-couple format.

Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb and his partner Jowita Przystal were eliminated after the three-couple dance-off against Jaime and Carlos, as well as Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, in Sunday's (November 1) results show.

Carlos Gu's Emotional Appeal

After the weekend's shows, Carlos took to Instagram with a message of support for Jaime and a reflection on how fans can help. Alongside a picture of the pair, the 2025 Strictly champion wrote: "Walking into Week 7, words cannot describe how grateful I feel in this moment. Jaime, I’m grateful for you. You never gave up, and you gave absolutely everything you possibly could. Three dance-offs in six weeks is an incredibly tough experience, especially for someone who has such a deep love for dancing and gives their absolute best every single time. I feel for you, and I’ve fought for you every step of the way."

He added: "I’d also love to encourage everyone watching the show to look a little closer and watch with an open heart. Allow people the space to be unapologetically themselves. Celebrate their individuality, recognise their courage, and remember that sometimes, the people who need a little more love and support are the ones who need us to show up for them the most."

Earlier Instagram Story Message

Carlos had earlier written on his Instagram Story: "It breaks my heart to see my Jaime end up in 3 dance-offs. She absolutely gave everything she possibly can. I feel for her and I fought for her! All I want is for her to enjoy this journey as much as she can and give the best of herself. I'd really appreciate if you guys watching closely and see how much this woman put in and have more love for her. Because she really deserves it."
