Strictly Remembrance Sunday tribute leaves viewers in tears

Strictly Come Dancing's Remembrance Sunday professional group routine, set to Peter Gabriel's arrangement of Heroes, left viewers emotional, with fans taking to social media to praise the performance.

The routine, choreographed by Lizzie Gough, opened with British soldiers departing for war, inspired by The Monument to the Women of World War II, highlighting the lives of women throughout the conflict.

Fans React to the Tribute

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: "Absolute goosebumps for that professional performance. My grandma was a code breaker in world war 2. Miss her every day #Strictly."

Another commented: "Beautiful performance by the professional dancers for #RemembranceSunday." A third remarked: "What a beautiful professional dance #Strictly."

Someone else noted: "I find the Remembrance Day dance emotional." A fifth viewer echoed: "Every single remembrance dance strictly has done I always seem to cry over them idk why #Strictly."

Saturday Night's Scores

Saturday (November 7) night proved to be an unpredictable evening in the ballroom, with the judges' scores varying considerably across each of the remaining couples.

Heading up the latest leaderboard was reality star Dani Dyer, after she secured her first 10 of the series alongside her professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin. The pair concluded the most recent live programme with their American smooth routine to It Had to Be You by Harry Connick Jr, achieving 36 points, with head judge Shirley Ballas stating they performed "exceptionally well" and rising to her feet in applause as they finished.

Bottom of the Leaderboard

At the bottom of the leaderboard were social media personality John Nellis and his partner Katya Jones, alongside former Love Island contestant Cach and his professional partner Maddie Ingoldsby, who were level at the foot on 26 points.

John and Katya delivered the salsa to Get Lucky by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell and Nile Rodgers, with Motsi Mabuse commenting she "loved the choreography", while Craig Revel Horwood described it as "like a three-year-old having a tantrum".

Meanwhile, Cach and Maddie executed the waltz to That Ain't You by Mulaa Joans, which Motsi deemed "elegant", though Shirley noted it contained "way too many foot errors", remarking: "Some parts are getting better, some need a bit more work."

The remaining couples will return to the dancefloor next weekend as the battle for a place in Blackpool Week continues. Strictly Come Dancing returns at 6:25pm on Saturday, November 14 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
