Strictly's Lacey Turner says 'nobody is safe' before week seven show
Strictly's Lacey Turner: 'nobody is safe' before live show

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Lacey Turner has appealed to viewers to vote, warning that "nobody is safe" just hours before Saturday's week seven live show. The EastEnders star, 38, and her professional partner Vito Coppola, 34, are set to perform a Rumba to Coldplay's Yellow on the November 7 programme.

Leaderboard toppers face halfway test

The live show marks the halfway stage of the competition, with the remaining couples hoping to impress the judges and the audience at home. Jamie Winstone will miss this weekend's show due to injury, and she and her partner Carlos Gu will receive a bye through to week eight, when they are expected to be fit to dance again.

Last week, during the Halloween special, Lacey and Vito topped the leaderboard for the first time. Their Charleston to "Crazy Stupid Love" by Cheryl and Tinie Tempah earned straight 9s from judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, for a total of 36 points.

Close competition behind the leaders

Motsi Mabuse described the routine as the "best dance of the night". YouTuber John Nellis, 33, and Katya Jones finished second with 35 points for their Tango, while two couples shared third place on 33 points: model Cash Mercer, 25, with Maddie Ingoldsby, 21, who danced an Argentine Tango, and singer Delta Goodrem, 41, with Kai Widdrington, 31, who performed a Viennese Waltz.

As the competition intensifies, Lacey and Vito have said they are far from ready to leave the BBC contest and have appealed to supporters to cast their votes after tonight's performance, according to Wales Online.

Plea to fans on Instagram

On Saturday afternoon, Lacey shared a photograph of herself with Vito on Instagram Stories, taken during a previous Strictly performance. She wrote: "Ok...the competition is heating up, and nobody is safe. As amazing as we know the green team are we need you to pick up your phone/laptops/tablets and all get voting. We're not ready to go home yet. Still lots more to come."

The pair have earned the nickname the green team, with the four-leaf clover serving as their emblem of good fortune. Strictly Come Dancing week seven airs at 6:40pm on BBC One and iPlayer, with the results show on Sunday at 7:10pm.
