Strictly Fans Should Embrace Change: New Hosts Are a Fresh Start
Strictly Fans Should Embrace New Hosts Shake-Up

At last! Ever since Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced they were leaving last autumn, just about anyone who has ever stepped foot in front of a camera has been tipped as a new Strictly presenter. Now it has finally been revealed that there will be three new hosts rather than two, all presenting on an equal footing with none more important than the other (or so we are told).

The New Hosting Trio

The trio comprises TV presenter Emma Willis, a shiny floor veteran who will also be hosting The Voice on ITV at the same time; comedian Josh Widdicombe, who will hopefully bring the laughs; and much-loved professional dancer Johannes Radebe, who certainly knows a thing or two about dancing. Their appointment has sparked mixed reactions among fans, but perhaps it is time to embrace change.

How Will Duties Be Divided?

Details on how they will carve up the duties between them remain sketchy. Insiders suggest that one will indeed be upstairs in the former Clauditorium, but they do not know who yet. Will they have fixed roles or switch about a bit? The uncertainty has led to speculation, but the producers have emphasised the sizzling chemistry during auditions, which bodes well if true.

Why Change Is Necessary

While they have no doubt got big shoes to fill, surely we, the audience, should be glad that show bosses have used this opportunity to have a proper shake-up? After all, a show that is 23 years old needs to be kept fresh somehow. I am all for something a bit different. Change is good sometimes, so let us hold off on the howls of dismay until we have actually seen what they can do.

You never know, they might be a breath of fresh air. Good luck Emma, Jojo, and Josh. No pressure!
