Strictly Come Dancing viewers have taken to social media to claim that professional dancer Neil Jones looked "disgusted" after watching Carlos Gu and Jaime Winstone perform their foxtrot on the October 24 show.
The 44-year-old pro faced backlash after the camera caught his facial expression as Carlos, 33, and Jaime, 41, hugged following their dance to Man I Need by Olivia Dean. The pair opened the show as the first to perform.
Social Media Reaction to Neil's Expression
Fans quickly addressed Neil's expression online, with one asking: "Why did Neil look disgusted?" Another commented: "Had a face like a slapped a**e."
A third viewer suggested: "Neil needs to be given a partner & all will be solved. I’ve had enough of him being there to make up the numbers. He's a great dancer & deserves to have a partner for the series!"
One more wrote: "Sorry, Neil, have you got a problem with Jaime Winstone's dance pal?" while another added: "I'd check if Neil's armed. He's fizzing."
Neil Jones' Recent Absence and Personal Tribute
Neil has again missed out on a celebrity partner in this year's series, with his last pairing being in 2024 when he was partnered with singer Toyah Willcox. That partnership lasted two weeks before elimination.
Last year, the dancer lost his father, and earlier this week he returned to social media to mark a year since his dad's passing. Sharing a picture of them sharing a pint, Neil told his followers: "It's been a year, and I know you'll be having a pint, smiling and looking down on us all." He captioned the post: "Thinking of you."
Judges' Scores Spark Fan Disappointment
Many fans were also disappointed by the judges' scores for Jaime and Carlos after their foxtrot. The pair scored 25 out of 40, with every judge giving them a six except Anton du Beke, who awarded a seven.
One fan said: "I absolutely love Jaime and Carlos, and I thought the Foxtrot was gorgeous, much better than the judges are making out. Queue undermarking." Another tweeted: "I'm no dance professional but surely Jaime & Carlos was undermarked there?"
A third added: "That was a beautiful foxtrot routine from Carlos, so traditional. It was a bit lumpy and I did notice the couple of mistakes from Jaime, but overall I enjoyed it and I noticed some good footwork plus her spins were gorgeous. I felt the judges were a bit harsh."
