Strictly Come Dancing fans believe Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb was "stitched up" this week as he faces the show's first-ever triple dance off. The new twist means the three couples with the lowest combined judges' scores and public votes will dance again, and this time the judges will vote to eliminate one duo rather than save their favourite.
Halloween Special Scores
On Saturday night (October 31), Robb and his partner Jowita Przystał performed a Tango to the Ghostbusters theme tune during the Halloween special. They received a score of 26 from the judges, placing them third bottom on the leaderboard.
Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola topped the leaderboard with a score of 36 for their Jive, followed closely by John Nellis and Katya Jones with 35 for their Tango. At the bottom, Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita scored 25, alongside Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley.
Fan Reactions Online
Many viewers took to social media to express their concern for Robb, with several claiming the song and dance style did not match. One fan wrote: "I wish the public would vote to keep him, because the judges are harder on him than on the others, and I felt it dampened his spirit. In my opinion, he's on the same level as Graeme and Will, but they get more sympathy and better marks than he does. Was it great? No. But I feel he has more to offer."
Another added: "Also feel like he was set up this week. A tango to that song with a Ghostbusters theme is not easy." A third fan commented: "I feel like giving this dance with this song was something of a stitch up. He did a lot better than I expected."
Dance Off Twist
This is the first time Strictly will hold a triple dance-off, adding to the pressure for the couples at the bottom of the leaderboard. One viewer noted: "Not a great music choice for a tango. The public vote will probably save him from the dance off but he will need it." Others accused the judges of being unfair, with one saying: "Once again the only one they seem to actually judge. Undermarked again!" and another agreeing: "Undermarked every week!"
The next dancer to leave Strictly Come Dancing will be revealed in tonight's result show at 7:10pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
