Strictly Come Dancing fans have said they are "sick" of seeing presenter Emma Willis, who currently fronts multiple primetime programmes on BBC and ITV alongside the long-running Saturday night dance show.
The 50-year-old hosts Strictly and its Sunday results show, and can also be seen on ITV's The Voice immediately beforehand. On Monday nights she appears opposite comedian Tom Allen on Cooking With The Stars, and with her husband Matt Willis she hosts Netflix dating show Love Is Blind. She also fronts Emma Willis: Delivering Babies on U&W.
Fans demand less of Willis
Fans have taken to social media to ask to see less of the star, claiming she is becoming "over-saturated". On a Reddit forum, one user called Emma her "secret girl crush" but said: "...She's becoming over saturated. She reminds me of Holly [Willoughby]. The face of every prime show. Followed by Alison Hammond."
The same user added: "Emma is fronting Strictly and The Voice. Two prime time TV shows. I tuned into a show last night. Was celebs cooking, hosted with Emma and Tom Allen." She asked: "She's obviously very good at her job. But aren't their any other presenters?" and suggested the BBC could drop her from the results show, noting: "Brucey didn't do the results show...I don't want to get Emma fatigue."
Social media reaction
On X, other fans echoed the sentiment. One wrote: "Amazing that Emma Willis is on mainstream tv for 4 consecutive hours every Saturday, Strictly and The Voice. Clearly there's a shortage of presenters!" Another said: "Currently, Emma Willis is on Strictly and The Voice, at the same time, sick of her..." A third observed: "Emma Willis on both ITV and BBC at the same time tonight. She does know if she's on all the time viewers will lose interest in her. Less is more."
Not everyone agreed, with one user stating: "It depends on your viewing habits surely. I only watch her in [Strictly], so no fatigue for me."
New role and reaction
The remarks come despite Emma being widely praised by viewers since taking over from previous hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. The BBC opted for three presenters, teaming her with former pro dancer Johannes Radebe and comedian Josh Widdicombe.
Earlier this month she discussed her new role on spin-off show It Takes Two, saying: "It's a whirlwind!" She explained: "Josh [Widdicombe] and I sit right at the back where no one can see us in view on the telly and we watch everything, we watch the audience, we watch how the judges react, we watch the dance as well, and everything we do is what we've just observed."
She added: "We take it in the moment. If it's gone really well and they're super excited, we react to that. If it hasn't gone quite so well, we'll react to that. Normally, they can't breathe or speak, so we just go, 'Hey, let's turn to the judges!'"
However, she admitted she finds presenting the dance-off results challenging, remarking: "...I really don't enjoy it. I love my job and I love being a part of it but I just feel so sorry for them, we do see how much work they put into it and how much they love doing it and how painful their bodies are by doing it and you don't want to be the one to say, 'Thank you so much, bye!'"
