Strictly exit leaked as fans slam 'ridiculous' dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing fans have branded the fifth elimination of the series "ridiculous" following the dramatic three-couple dance-off. The result is broadcast on Sunday nights, but it is pre-recorded the day before, following the live episode. A source from the Strictly audience has now reportedly confirmed the spoiler on social media, but Express.co.uk has chosen not to name them.

Halloween Night in the Ballroom

The battle for this year's Glitterball Trophy stepped up a gear on Saturday night (October 31) as the remaining 12 couples returned to the ballroom. This week, the star-studded ballroom was transformed for Halloween, with contestants performing routines including sexy salsas, chilling Cha-chas, and wicked waltzes to some of the most beloved Halloween songs and movies in pop culture.

The celebrity line-up dressed up as creepy characters, including the Ghostbusters, Frankenstein and the Devil, in a bid to impress the judges and avoid finding themselves in the show's first-ever three-way dance-off.

New Dance-Off Rules Spark Outrage

Unlike previous dance-offs, this week the judges voted to eliminate one couple from the show rather than vote to save their favourite couple, as they have in previous dance-offs. This is one of the many changes BBC bosses are implementing in the rebooted series.

Those who waited for the spoiler to be revealed on social media were quick to call out the "ridiculous" new format online. One user penned: "Ridiculous choice to send home someone in the three-way dance-off. I really liked them, and this seems unfair." Another agreed: "The other two will be in the dance-off next week, though", as a third chimed in with: "If there's three in a dance-off, it would have been better to get two eliminated."

Fans Question the Result

Others were surprised by the result, with many calling for a rescore. One user penned: "Really surprised!! I thought they were hugely popular [sad emoji]." Another fumed: "They would not have been in the dance-off under the normal rules. Likely the twist was designed specifically for this purpose." A third echoed: "That three-way dance-off was the reason they were there, so people will deffo be angry about that."

Fans will have to stay tuned to see which couple will take to the dancefloor one last time during the results show tonight (November 1st) on BBC One or BBC iPlayer from 7.10pm.
