Netflix viewers admit binge-watching Lucifer until 2am

Netflix viewers have confessed to staying up until nearly 2am to binge-watch the gripping series Lucifer, with many admitting they cannot tear themselves away once they start watching.

The show, available to stream on Netflix, has left audiences completely captivated. One viewer previously highlighted the series on Reddit, confessing they had been glued to their seat until the early hours because they simply could not stop watching. Many others have since admitted to having similar experiences.

Fans share late-night viewing confessions

In a thread dedicated to the show, one viewer wrote: "Me, after staying up until nearly 2am on a work night to finish season four." The post was accompanied by an image featuring the phrase "I hate myself".

Despite desperately wanting their beds, viewers appear powerless to switch off once they have started watching. Plenty of others confessed to similar late-night binging sessions, proving they had found themselves in exactly the same boat.

One said: "Been there. Done that. Worth it." Another replied: "I've binge-watched the whole series in about a week and now it's like I don't know what to do with myself." A third added: "It's addictive."

"What threw me was being spoiled by the 26 hours of season three and having to deal with only 10 in season four. I know, I know... we are lucky Netflix picked it up, but still!" Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Make it until 4am and that's me." Someone else also wrote: "I took a week off work to binge it at my pace. Awesome decision."

What is the plot?

For the uninitiated, Lucifer is an American urban fantasy series created by Tom Kapinos. Originally launching back in 2016, it is now available to stream on Netflix and some are still just discovering it.

The narrative focuses on Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), an alternative take on the DC Comics character originally conceived by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. In this version, Lucifer abandons Hell to operate a nightclub in Los Angeles.

Yet his existence takes a dramatic turn when he begins working as a consultant for the Los Angeles Police Department. Audiences are taken along for quite the ride.

The ensemble cast features Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D. B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris and Aimee Garcia. The show has proven hugely popular amongst viewers.

Despite not originally airing on Netflix, the series is now available to watch on the platform. Netflix initially only owned and broadcast the later instalments after rescuing the show from Fox, with the first three seasons subsequently being added.
