Miranda Hart reveals Celebrity Traitors regret

Miranda Hart has spoken about the mistakes she would correct from her time on Celebrity Traitors, admitting she regrets sharing her bouncing floor theory and siding with Joanne McNally. The 53-year-old comedian was eliminated by the Traitors last week, just days before the series finale.

Traitors Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny voted to remove her from the competition because she had put forward convincing theories throughout the show. Miranda was among the first contestants to notice a change in Professor Hannah Fry's behaviour after she was recruited by the Traitors.

Miranda's regrets on This Morning

Appearing on Thursday's (October 29) edition of This Morning, Miranda discussed her experience with presenters Dermot O'Leary and Sian Welby. When asked if she would change anything about her approach, she said: "I genuinely had no strategy or theory. I just played it how I wanted to play.

"But looking back, I would not have said the bouncing floor theory and I wouldn't have taken [Joanne McNally's] side. I would have just stepped back a bit."

She added: "I forgot that I might get murdered because I was thinking 'Well, I've got tomorrow to convince Michael and Blunty and Kenny, who I still thought was Faithful, and Sharon, my Faithfuls. I've got tomorrow to convince them, get Joanne onside. Of course, I was murdered."

The bouncing floor theory explained

Miranda's bouncing floor theory could have exposed lead Traitor Maya. She developed the theory during a blindfold challenge, in which the Traitors were allowed to remove their blindfolds at certain points and undo the Faithfuls' work.

Positioned between Traitor Maya and fellow Faithful Joanne, Miranda noticed the floorboards shifting beside her during moments when Faithfuls had to stand motionless, indicating a Traitor was nearby. However, she wrongly concluded that Joanne was the Traitor, which left Joanne frustrated.

Miranda later said she had 'debunked' the theory during the roundtable vote, but several players became suspicious after her sudden U-turn.

Fan reaction to her exit

Fans were upset by Miranda's departure, with one viewer posting: "THEY KILLED MIRANDA NO #TheTraitors #TheCelebrityTraitors," while a second said: "WHY MIRANDA WHY? ! #CelebrityTraitors."

Others paid tribute, with a Reddit user writing: "She was the best faithful of this bunch. The best detective and the best vibes too."

The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
