Millie Bobby Brown has sparked speculation about additional Stranger Things episodes after disclosing a confidential pact with the show's creators. The British actress, who played Eleven, revealed that only three people know the true fate of her character following the series finale.
The Ambiguous Ending and Secret Pact
The final season of Stranger Things, which aired over New Year's, left Eleven's destiny intentionally vague. In the climactic showdown, Eleven seemingly sacrificed herself to save Hawkins. Now, Brown has confirmed that showrunners the Duffer brothers made a private agreement with her, leaving the door open for a potential continuation. "They were like, 'Do not tell anyone. Because we made it a secret kind of pledge,'" Brown said. "No one else knows. It's just us three. And what we do with that information, it'll be up to them."
Cast and Family in the Dark
Even Brown's husband, Jake Bongiovi, and her co-stars were kept in the dark about Eleven's fate. According to Brown, her husband remarked, "Ooh, these are really split," referring to fan theories. The entire cast, she noted, believed her character was dead. "One, rude. It's so rude of them. There's something to it, surely. You guys are projecting! It's like, 'Hey guys, we get it. You want me dead!' But I was like, 'Believe!' Let's have some hope in here," she recalled.
Reconnecting After the Show
Since Stranger Things concluded, Brown has been reconnecting with her co-stars to resolve any lingering issues. "They probably thought I was crazy," Brown told Variety. "I was like, 'We're still friends, right? Like, you're not gonna stop talking to me anymore?'" She added, "I was like, 'I'm sorry if I ever upset you,' and was just trying to mend anything. 'It's been 10 years, and I really want to be friends. You're my sibling.' And then I was on the beach, it was beautiful, and I just sat there crying. It was a very hard time for me."
Stranger Things remains one of Netflix's most successful series, and the streaming giant has expressed interest in continuing the franchise. While no official announcement has been made, Brown's revelation suggests that more episodes could be on the horizon, depending on the Duffer brothers' decision.
