Michael Sheen may be the next target for the Traitors and his fellow Faithfuls, as one particular character trait could lead to his banishment from the castle. Celebrity Traitors served up another jaw-dropping episode on Thursday (October 23), with two more Faithfuls getting the boot following a murder-in-plain-sight task and a dramatic banishment.
Traitors strike in 'Bored to Death' challenge
During a covert challenge called 'Bored to Death', the Traitors - Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny - were given the job of spraying a mysterious "peacock perfume" in a room before enticing an unwitting Faithful into their snare. Sadly, it was EastEnders legend Ross Kemp who fell for it as he yawned while James posed the deadly question, "Am I boring you?".
Later at the round table, another fan favourite got the chop as Jerry Hall was voted out, marking yet another blunder by the Faithfuls. Up until now, actor and Faithful Michael Sheen has flown under the radar and hasn't faced much scrutiny from his co-stars despite steering conversations and coming across as a commanding presence, while persistently hunting down Traitors.
Body language expert reveals Sheen's 'tells'
However, this could be set to shift. Body language specialist Judi James believes Michael is excelling at unnerving the Traitors, even without knowing who they are, and has confidently assumed a leadership position, reports Wales Online. Yet, his tendency to overthink might result in his departure from the BBC programme.
Discussing Michael's standing in the competition, Judi said: "He has now stepped into the central spot that could have been his all along, leading discussions and even standing bang in the middle and right at the front of the group, legs akimbo, in a pose of leader, as they were briefed for their task. But there was one huge 'tell' that showed how it's not just Michael's status that would be silently intimidating in there, it's his body language."
She continued: "His ability to intimidate the Traitors and make them royally scupper the shield task even while he was wearing a mask was truly terrifying. As the Traitors tried to creep silently Michael stood like some mythological monster, turning his head from side to side as though alert to any sound but then adding his most terrifying ritual as he lifted his top lip to bare his upper teeth in a snarl, like a hound about to attack."
Overthinking could be Sheen's downfall
Judi noted: "The 'real' Michael comes across as a total over-thinker though, which is why he is not a good Traitor-hunter. His gestures signal constant thought and evaluation, with the biggest tell being a stroking of his beard. A subtler tell, though, comes from his eye movement."
"As he hears a new clue, we can see his eyes quickly darting from side to side, suggesting he's quickly trying to assimilate the information and file it away to be useful. When he makes his points at the round table, he counts them off on his fingers to show he's been busy curating clues. Michael's downfall could be this overthinking, though. There is a random aspect to Traitors that means a gut-reaction shot in the dark can often be more successful than an intellectual decision."
