Maya Jama has been praised by Celebrity Traitors fans after donating what she would have won to her chosen charity, Action for Children, following her elimination from the final. The Love Island host was banished from the castle on Friday night (October 30) by fellow traitor King Kenny, just before the live final.
Jama's Elimination and Final Outcome
The YouTuber was also banished, leaving presenter Romesh Ranganathan and singer Sebastian 'Bash' Croft to split the £83,000 prize fund. The comedian and actor emerged as the last Faithfuls standing, dividing the pot equally between the Refugee Council and Choose Love, respectively.
Jama had chosen Action for Children, a charity that supports vulnerable children facing issues such as poverty, abuse, and finding a foster home.
Donation Revealed on Social Media
On Saturday afternoon (October 31), she revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she had made the donation after an X user highlighted the would-be recipients had she won. The user wrote: "Just found out that Maya Jama was supporting Action for Children. Thank you. Maya, AFC (or NCH as it was) made all the difference in my life, and I'm forever grateful."
Jama replied: "Just donated what I would have won for my chosen charity... It's an amazing cause."
Fan Reactions and Future Series Hopes
The TV presenter was quickly inundated with applause from fans online. One user wrote: "Even in defeat... still the star of the show." Another said: "You deserved to win, played a blinder, much respect for ya." A third echoed: "Great gesture. Was hoping for you to win; you did a great job."
The four-week series ended on Friday night when Ranganathan and Croft correctly eliminated the final Traitors in two tense roundtable debates. Days after the final, viewers have begun submitting wishes to BBC bosses for a potential third run, with some calling for fewer comedians and more variety in contestants. The BBC has yet to announce whether Celebrity Traitors will return.
