Matt Willis reveals Emma's true feelings on Strictly role

Matt Willis has revealed that his wife, Emma Willis, is "loving" her new role as a presenter on Strictly Come Dancing, describing the job as a "dream" for the former The Voice host.

Speaking on Wednesday's (October 14) live edition of BBC Breakfast, the Busted frontman told presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent that Emma is "stoked to bits" despite the mixed feedback the new presenting line-up has received since the series launched last month.

Emma's 'dream job' on Strictly

Matt said: "She's stoked to bits, I think she is doing a fantastic job. She loves the show. She's such a fan, so for her to be presenting Strictly is like a dream job, and I think you can tell how much she loves it. She's having a whale of a time, she's really enjoying herself."

The music star also confirmed he is "loving" the current series, adding: "I love it, it's my first time religiously watching the show, and I love it. I'm well in."

Family support and comparisons to former hosts

Matt explained that he has been watching Strictly at home with the couple's children, though he has also attended the ballroom in person, describing it as "very impressive in real life" and noting: "When you watch them do it, it's quite amazing what they're doing."

Emma, who is perhaps best recognised for fronting The Voice and Big Brother, has largely escaped criticism during Strictly's presenting overhaul. Certain supporters of the BBC programme have drawn comparisons between Emma and former long-serving host Tess Daly, as she occupies the dance floor to speak with contestants following each routine alongside Josh Widdicombe. Johannes Radebe assumes the role previously held by Claudia Winkleman upstairs.

Matt and Emma Willis have been married since July 5, 2008, having wed in Northamptonshire, and the couple has three children together: Isabelle, Ace, and Trixie Grace.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 6:15 pm on Saturday as the celebrities take on Icons Week. BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
