Location guest refuses to enter house as Kirstie sighs

Kirstie Allsopp was left frustrated with a Location, Location, Location guest who refused to step foot inside one of the properties on view. Sharon, a retired primary school teacher, had a budget of £375,000 and had already viewed 28 properties over five years, with each one falling through. She had placed offers on eight of the properties, but all had fallen through.

Refusal to Enter Victorian House

Sharon was searching for a new home away from busy main roads, but when she arrived at a three-bedroom Victorian house on a quiet street on the Channel 4 show, she wouldn’t even step foot inside. Sharon said: “It’s a no, 100%.” When Kirstie asked why, she replied: “Because I know the area and it’s just not for me. It’s too close to Reading town centre.”

She insisted nothing inside the property could “seduce” her into changing her mind. Presenter Phil Spencer pointed out the house had all the period features Sharon was looking for, was on a quiet street and was a good size, suggesting she wasn’t approaching the search with a “buyer’s eye”.

Frustration Mounts

Sharon also lost interest in a house in Berkshire which was at the top end of her budget. Kirstie seemed frustrated as she said: “Let’s be honest, today isn’t going so well, is it? We do always ask people for a list of properties they’ve already seen, and we also ask estate agents. But these things do happen.”

Sharon told her the home “lacked the character I really want”, only for Kirstie to say: “But can you afford the character that you want, in the areas that you really want?”

Final Property and Viewer Reaction

Though she said “wow” at the final property in West Reading, the location once again let it down and she refused to commit to it, with Kirstie warning that her budget would likely not stretch to fill all her requirements. Sharon eventually admitted she “had a wobbly” after returning home following the viewing, admitting she “needed to think longer” about the potential move. She had lived in the same house for 30 years and appeared reluctant to leave it.

Viewers were left fuming at the episode, with one writing on X: “I think Kirstie’s struggled to hide her feelings with waste-of-space Sharon. No idea how or why she went on the programme and a waste of my time watching it.” Another said: “Just catching up with Location, Kirstie has shown teacher woman Shaz two properties and both are a no. There’s a surprise. Kirstie has the patience of a saint.” Someone else posted: “Sharon lives in central Reading, which is far closer to her grandchildren than all the areas looked at, and sadly there’s not a chance her budget would have got her a similar-sized house. Bizarre.”
