Strictly's Lawrence Robb shares three-word verdict on dance-off twist
Lawrence Robb's three-word verdict on Strictly dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing's Lawrence Robb fought back tears as he reflected on his elimination following the show's first three-way dance-off, telling his former co-stars they have "already won."

The actor was voted off the BBC programme after Halloween Week, when judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke all chose to send him and partner Jowita Przystał home. Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, along with Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, also faced the dance-off, with the judges required to select who to eliminate rather than vote to save.

Emotional Interview on It Takes Two

Appearing on Monday's (November 2) edition of companion show Strictly It Takes Two, presenter Ellie Taylor spoke with Robb about his time on the competition. He acknowledged it was "lovely to have" his family attend the show, despite facing elimination, noting they at least saw him perform twice.

Robb admitted he was "semi in my head on borrowed time" after expecting to be in the dance-off the previous week. He described his exit as "bittersweet," saying: "I was saying this to Jowita, despite getting voted out it was bittersweet because it in a weird way it kind of felt like we won."

Three-Word Verdict and Final Message

When asked about the first ever three-way dance-off, Robb told Taylor: "That's not nice." He explained he took on a mantra of enjoying the experience as much as possible, having previously allowed negative judges' criticism to affect his training.

Robb grew tearful towards the end of the interview, with Jowita stepping in to console him. He delivered a touching message to his former co-stars, saying: "I think number one is meeting an incredible person in this girl here. The sense family and the joy that it brings every week. The people and the journey."

He added: "The idea of not knowing how to do any ballroom at all and learning it in what three and a half days it's just wild. Also, I think that this should apply to all the couples - or celebrities sorry, doing Strictly, you've already won. Anything on top of that is icing, cherry on top of the cake. You've won."

Strictly It Takes Two continues tomorrow at 6.30pm on BBC Two and iPlayer.
