Lacey Turner has revealed on Strictly Come Dancing that her body has changed so much that "nothing fits me anymore". The EastEnders star, 38, is competing with professional dancer Vito Coppola and is seeing the results of her hard work on the dance floor.
Last week, the actress topped the leaderboard with her Charleston, earning nines from all four judges alongside Vito. But it is not just her dance skills that have improved.
'Like a vacuum pack'
Lacey, who admitted she has never been one to care about her shape or size, has confessed she has been taken aback by her transformation. Speaking to The Sun, she said: "Nothing fits me any more! I mean, considering the amount of pastries we eat and the pasta we eat, I’m shocked!"
"I think what’s happening to my body is that it’s going like a vacuum pack. I don’t think you necessarily lose weight, but everything sort of tightens up and you feel stronger."
The mum-of-three also noted she has been amazed by how quickly she is now recovering from the tough training. She said it feels as though her body is becoming "resilient".
Fans back Lacey for the final
Fans have tipped Lacey to make it all the way to the final of the dance contest. She is one of two favourites to lift the iconic Glitter Ball trophy.
Strictly's celebrity line-up this year includes Love Island star Cach Mercer, TV personality Dani Dyer, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem, actress Jaime Winstone, TV dog trainer Graeme Hall and Olympic skeleton athlete Tabby Stoecker alongside the EastEnders star.
After last weekend's Halloween showing, viewers think it will be either Lacey or Tabby who will be crowned winner. On Reddit, one user wrote: "Lacey's Charleston was an absolute vibe! So glad she finally had her breakthrough moment!"
"And as much as I love Tabby, I'm glad she's had her wobble now so she can regroup and bounce back. Lacey rising, Tabby fighting back… this is turning into an exciting duel!"
Another fan of the show agreed, writing: "I loved her Charleston and I'm not normally a big fan of the style. Lacey was so light and relaxed it was just really fun to watch. And she was nearly Katya levels of fearless with those lifts!"
Bookmakers make pair frontrunners
Bookmakers seem to agree that the pair are the frontrunners too. They have made them close favourites in the stakes.
While many major UK bookmakers are still leaning toward Lacey as the overall favourite, recent strong performances — including a pair of perfect tens — have seen Tabby surge to the top spot on several alternative trackers.
