Junior Andre, the 21-year-old son of Katie Price and Peter Andre, has said he wants to "shut off all the background noise" from the media as he takes part in the BBC's Celebrity Race Across The World with his sister Princess, 19.
The siblings, who have grown up in the public eye because of their parents' fame, spoke to Heat Magazine ahead of their appearance on the show. Junior explained that beyond seeing the world, he is seeking a sense of calm.
A Chance to Escape the Spotlight
Junior said: "I want to see the world, and this will give us a chance to see different parts of it – some magical places. I also just want to shut off all the background noise that’s often around in our lives and in the media, and just focus and do my best."
Princess agreed that taking part in the programme would be a "really fun experience", while Junior added that despite their own fame, the duo still share a "normal brother and sister dynamic".
Past Comments on Fame and Work
This is not the first time Junior has spoken publicly about his life or fame this year. In his sister's ITV2 reality show, 'The Princess Diaries', he revealed that while trying to build his music career, he took on a night job to support himself.
He told Princess: "It’s been a long time coming, it’s been hard, you know I’ve obviously had to do nine-to-five, Monday to Friday. I found a night job basically just working on the London underground, grafting, lifting heavy metals, cutting, filing, painting. I got them jobs so I could do my music career, so I could fund it."
Parents' Improved Relationship
The siblings have also discussed the current dynamic between their parents, who were married between September 2005 and May 2009. Princess said things are now much better between them, as reported by Closer.
She said: "It all happened naturally. My mum and dad did a truce online and they’re fine now. Then my show came along so it was perfect timing. It just worked out. It is way more fun for me to have them in the show because I like having my family there."
