Jimmy Bullard is reportedly plotting his “ultimate sweet revenge” on Adam Thomas as the live finale of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here approaches tonight. ITV executives are said to be nervously anticipating the reunion, uncertain of what might transpire between the two campmates following their explosive argument, which aired earlier this week and has been described as the show's biggest ever row.
Behind the Scenes Tensions
Bullard, 47, is said to remain “seething” over the altercation, which took place several months ago as the spin-off series, I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, was pre-recorded until the final. Sources indicate that the former professional footballer is ready to share his side of the story during the live broadcast. An insider remarked, “Jimmy is a larger-than-life character with a wicked sense of humour and will be revelling in the opportunity to make everyone sweat.”
The source added, “He’s a massive joker, so they don’t know what he’s going to say or do in the live final. He is also not afraid to say exactly what he thinks — and that means he won’t be toeing ITV’s line... It’s the ultimate sweet revenge.”
The Original Bust-Up
The conflict between Adam Thomas, an actor known for his role in Waterloo Road, and Bullard erupted when they teamed up for a Bushtucker Trial where the losing duo would be sent home. Bullard, a former Fulham midfielder, quit the challenge, prompting an angry confrontation with Thomas, who shouted, “You’re taking the p***!”
Despite the row, Thomas was allowed to remain in the camp and is now competing to win the competition. The live finale marks the first time the former Emmerdale star has faced his rival since the bitter spat, which was recorded last autumn. It was initially unclear whether Bullard, a father of two, would attend the series finale due to his fury over the editing of the clash.
Intensified Drama
Fellow campmate and boxer David Haye commented in an interview that the incident “was a lot more intense” than what viewers saw. ITV, however, insists that the broadcast was an accurate and fair representation of events. The network also denied claims that Thomas attempted to kick Bullard. A spokesperson told the Mirror, “This is categorically not true. Adam did not try to kick Jimmy.”
While Thomas, from Manchester, was visibly angry and did kick a door in the trial area, it was reportedly “nowhere near” Bullard, and the footage was included in the episode that aired this week. As campmates including Harry Redknapp and Craig Charles gather for the final time, all eyes will be on the potential fireworks between Bullard and Thomas.
