ITV Replaces A Taste for Murder with Vardy Doc

ITV has confirmed that A Taste for Murder will be replaced next week by an 'intimate' celebrity documentary series titled The Vardys. The final episode of the crime drama airs tonight, Thursday, May 28, leaving viewers eager to see what will occupy its slot.

A Taste for Murder Finale

The concluding episode of A Taste for Murder sees DCI Joe Mottram (played by Warren Brown) and his daughter Angelica having a 'blazing row' about her future. The series, set on the Italian island of Capri, follows Mottram as he investigates mysterious crimes after moving there following his wife's death. In the finale, Joe discovers a hand found in a dead shark linked to the Mafia, while Lara uncovers a clue that could change everything.

Introducing The Vardys

Starting Tuesday, June 2, The Vardys will air over three consecutive evenings, from June 2 to June 4. The documentary follows footballer Jamie Vardy and his wife Rebekah as they relocate to Italy after Jamie leaves Leicester City to play for Serie A club US Cremonese. ITV promises 'no-holds-barred, intimate access' to the family, capturing their house-hunts, school searches, and unexpected disasters.

Rebekah Vardy's Fresh Start

The series also offers Rebekah a chance to leave behind the 'Wagatha Christie' drama. In 2022, Rebekah lost a libel case against Coleen Rooney after Rooney accused her of leaking private stories to the press. The High Court ruled Rooney's claims were 'substantially true.' The documentary shows Rebekah reflecting on these challenges and focusing on a new chapter.

The Vardys premieres Tuesday, June 2, at 9pm on ITV.
