The Spanish villa featured in ITV's thriller The Party, where Luke Evans and Tom Cullen's characters stay during a stag do in Barcelona, is actually Ty Bryn Calon, a holiday home in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly, Wales.
The series, starring Luke Evans, aired on Sunday, October 11, with the full boxset on ITVX. Although predominantly set in the UK, episode four sees Martin and his friends travel to Barcelona for his stag do. Those scenes were filmed throughout south Wales, with the villa scenes shot at Ty Bryn Calon.
A family home turned film location
Ty Bryn Calon is a detached holiday home in Caerphilly, bookable through its website or on Airbnb. It was built 20 years ago by Nichola John and her husband Gareth. The family lived there for years before building another property next door. They began renting out Ty Bryn Calon in February 2024, and six months later World Productions contacted them about filming The Party.
Nichola described the booking as "absolutely bonkers," with filming taking place in January 2026. She said: "Watching our home on our TV in our living room, looking at the rooms with Luke Evans in it. Seeing him in the house and watching him getting ready in my bathroom mirror is crazy. I'm taking it in now." She also praised World Productions, the cast and crew, saying: "They were fantastic throughout."
What guests can expect at Ty Bryn Calon
The property is rated 4.95 stars on Airbnb with 43 reviews, and Nichola has Superhost status. It is located in Ystrad Mynach, 14 miles from Newport and Cardiff, and 23.4 miles from Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). Nearby attractions include Parc Penallta, Caerphilly Castle, and Taff Valley Quad Bike & Activity Centre.
The home sleeps 15 guests, with seven bedrooms (king or double), four bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a sitting room, a toy room, and a utility. For a Mediterranean feel, there is a year-round pergola with wall heaters, an outdoor kitchen, an electric hot tub, a wood-burning stove, a BBQ, and a pizza oven. Entertainment includes a Smart TV, table football, pool table, dartboard, in-ground trampoline, children's two-story summer house, and a home cinema projector on request.
Indoor pool is a guest favourite
The standout amenity is the indoor swimming pool with swim jet technology. One visitor commented: "The real highlight, though, was the indoor heated pool — warm, private, and perfect for everyone to swim any time of day regardless of weather." Prices start from around £100 per person, per night, based on 15 guests.
The Party is available to watch on ITVX.
