ITV has axed AJ Odudu's fashion series M&S: Dress the Nation after just two series, marking another setback for the presenter. The broadcaster confirmed it will not recommission the show as part of ongoing budget reductions.
Show Cancellation Confirmed
An ITV spokesperson said: "Following two series of Dress the Nation, unfortunately we won't be commissioning another at this time." The statement added that ITV looks forward to continuing work with M&S and South Shore on the sixth series of Cooking with the Stars and the fourth series of Tom Kerridge Cooks.
The show, co-hosted with former Family Fortunes host Vernon Kay, first launched in 2024 and completed two runs, with the most recent episodes broadcast last year. It featured nine contestants from diverse backgrounds competing to create garments for M&S, with designs judged by a panel including celebrities and M&S specialists. Notable guests included Mel B, Cat Deeley, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Vernon Kay's Statement
Vernon Kay previously expressed his love for the show, stating: "Dress The Nation isn't just about fashion — it's about changing someone's life forever whilst discovering more of their own confidence, creativity and talent. The level of skill this year is unreal which means the competition is ridiculously tough but seeing people shine doing what they love makes for proper feel-good telly."
Further Setbacks for AJ Odudu
This cancellation follows reports that ITV is scrapping Celebrity Big Brother just three years after acquiring the rights, due to difficulties securing appropriate celebrity participants. Sources indicate celebrities are more interested in joining Celebrity Traitors. The civilian edition of Big Brother is scheduled to return later this year for an eight-week run starting in September.
