Hollyoaks' Imran Maalik shot by police in horrifying scenes

The life of Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) has been left hanging in the balance after he was shot by police, with mum Misbah (Harvey Virdi) screaming in devastation.

Imran became a wanted man by authorities after the role he played in the vanishing of Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) was exposed. Ste was taken against his will from a shopping centre several months ago, with subsequent scenes confirming that Imran orchestrated the kidnapping after a whirlwind love affair with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) in LA.

Revenge plot against Ste

The couple bonded over their shared dislike of Ste, who they held responsible for destroying various aspects of their lives. Cindy, however, was appalled to learn of the lengths Imran had gone to in order to get revenge and urged him to reconsider. When he refused to back down, she sought assistance from Lucas (Oscar Curtis) and Sienna Blake (Anna Passey), who successfully located missing Ste.

Ste was reunited with his loved ones in today's visit to the village, hugging Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) in emotional scenes. Lucas, meanwhile, headed to the police station to inform Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) all about Imran's role in the kidnapping, assuring him that evidence of the plans and the room in which he kept Ste prisoner should be on the house boat.

Armed police arrive at the boat

At the boat, Cindy and Misbah pleaded with Imran to see sense, with Misbah reiterating that his actions are no doubt some sort of grief over his father's passing. As armed police arrived at the scene, Imran reached into his jacket, which resulted in a shot being fired. Misbah, traumatised, rushed towards her son and screamed his name as he lost consciousness.
