Harry may join Meghan for Junior MasterChef in Melbourne

Prince Harry could leave the UK with his children Archie and Lilibet to accompany Meghan Markle while she films the Australian version of Junior MasterChef next year in Melbourne. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly set to take on a judging role for the upcoming series.

Meghan previously made a guest appearance on the main MasterChef Australia show when she and Harry embarked on an Antipodean tour in April. The new position is significantly more demanding, with a source close to the production reportedly confirming that the Duchess will feature on the highly anticipated series, scheduled for release in 2027.

A Weeks-Long Stint in Melbourne

The filming commitment will demand Meghan's presence away from Britain for 'weeks', sparking suggestions that Harry will bring children Archie and Lilibet to Melbourne to accompany the Duchess. Journalist Lauren Tomasi revealed on Australia's flagship breakfast news programme, Today: "We know she was in Melbourne a little earlier this year and she appeared as a guest judge on the main series during that time."

"I guess she loves Melbourne and Masterchef so much she needed to come back," Tomasi added. "It's not going to be any short period of time either. This is going to be a weeks-long stint which I think begs the question: Are Harry and the kids going to come too?"

A Globe-Trotting Family

Tomasi speculated: "I would hazard a guess at maybe, yes. They have become quite the globe trotting family. They have moved from the US to the UK, they love a bit of a trip. I think all four should head down under to Melbourne. That will be for the 2027 season of Junior Masterchef."

During Meghan's previous stint on Masterchef, she was presented to audiences as "a passionate foodie with global influence." Her enthusiasm for culinary pursuits runs deep, with the Duchess recently posting footage of herself preparing jam alongside young Lilibet.

First TV Project Since Return to Britain

If reports regarding Meghan's participation in Masterchef turn out to be true, this would mark her first verified television project since the Sussexes' return to Britain in late August. Meghan rose to prominence portraying Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits, departing the programme after appearing in over 100 episodes to concentrate on Royal responsibilities following the announcement of her engagement to Harry.
