Prince Harry could leave Britain only months after his return with his children to join Meghan Markle when she films a new TV show. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly set to appear as a judge on the Australian version of Junior Masterchef next year.
Previously, Meghan appeared as a guest judge on the main Masterchef Australia programme when she and Harry went on an Antipodean tour in April. However, the new role is much more involved, as a source close to the production has reportedly confirmed that the Duchess will appear on the highly anticipated upcoming season, slated for release in 2027.
Weeks-Long Stint in Melbourne
It will require her to be away from Britain for 'weeks', fuelling speculation Harry will take children Archie and Lilibet to Melbourne to accompany the Duchess. Journalist Lauren Tomasi told Australia's flagship breakfast news show, Today: "We know she was in Melbourne a little earlier this year and she appeared as a guest judge on the main series during that time."
"I guess she loves Melbourne and Masterchef so much she needed to come back. It's not going to be any short period of time either. This is going to be a weeks-long stint which I think begs the question: Are Harry and the kids going to come too?"
Family Could Head Down Under
Tomasi added: "I would hazard a guess at maybe, yes. They have become quite the globe trotting family. They have moved from the US to the UK, they love a bit of a trip. I think all four should head down under to Melbourne. That will be for the 2027 season of Junior Masterchef."
When Meghan last appeared on Masterchef, she was introduced to viewers as "a passionate foodie with global influence." She has a long-standing love of cooking, recently sharing a clip making jam with Lilibet.
First TV Work Since UK Return
Should reports of Meghan's involvement with Masterchef prove to be accurate, it would be her first confirmed television work since the Sussexes returned to the UK in late August. Meghan made her name playing Rachel Zane in TV drama Suits, leaving the show after more than 100 episodes to focus on Royal duties after her engagement to Harry was confirmed.
