Chelsea's Alejandro Garnacho Shows Off Joker Back Tattoo
Garnacho Unveils Joker Back Tattoo

Chelsea star Alejandro Garnacho has unveiled an eye-catching new tattoo across his back. The 21-year-old already has numerous tattoos, many inspired by pop culture and his faith. His ink includes a left-hand tribute to actress Millie Bobby Brown for her role in Stranger Things, artwork honouring the TV show Prison Break, and the Japanese cartoon series Captain Tsubasa.

New Back Tattoo Features Iconic Joker

Garnacho's latest addition is a striking depiction of Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker from The Dark Knight. The bold design covers his entire back and was created by renowned Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Joaquin Ganga, who has worked with celebrities such as Drake, LeBron James, and Post Malone. Such artwork is estimated to cost thousands of pounds and require multiple sessions.

Fan of the Joker

Garnacho has previously expressed his admiration for the Joker character. The tattoo includes the Joker holding a playing card and the infamous phrase 'why so serious?' Ganga shared a video of the work on Instagram with the caption: 'Full back cover up the Joker for @garnacho7. With my team @nopain.by.ganga.'

Other Tattoos

Garnacho also has 'Valiente' (Spanish for 'brave') tattooed on the side of his head, and a neck piece reading 'Nunca es suerte, siempre es Dios' ('It's never luck, it's always God'). He has a tattoo of a young child wearing a No 7 shirt, paying homage to his desire to inherit that number at Manchester United before his £40 million move to Chelsea last year.

Disappointing Campaign

Garnacho's latest tattoo comes after a disappointing season for the winger. Chelsea considered him a bargain when he joined from United after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim. However, he struggled for consistency at Stamford Bridge, scoring only one Premier League goal, which frustrated many Blues supporters. His lack of form also cost him a spot in Argentina's World Cup squad; his last international cap was in November 2024.
