Liz and Kelvin Fletcher have shared a "long time coming" update with fans, revealing a newly renovated landscape for their holiday cottage garden. The couple, who regularly share glimpses into their life on their Cheshire farm, posted a photo of the grass and stone paving in the garden.
Liz wrote: "It's been a long time coming. Finally a new landscape for the cottage garden and I love it." She added: "Now for the furniture and some planters to go in..."
Stag Cottage and the Family's Holiday Let
The family live on the farm, but they also own a holiday cottage, Stag Cottage. Alongside managing their farm, the Fletchers converted an old barn into a holiday let. The popularity of the renovated Stag Cottage has taken off considerably since the show aired.
Located in the Peak District close to Macclesfield, over an hour's drive from Liverpool, the cottage offers three large bedrooms and a sitting room complete with a woodburning stove. There is also a hot tub and views of the Peak District.
Welcoming Merseyside Visitors
In an exclusive interview with the Liverpool ECHO on the red carpet at the National Television Awards last month, Kelvin said he enjoys welcoming people from Merseyside to his holiday let. He told the ECHO: "We get Liverpool visiting us very often with our holiday cottage and some of our events. We get a lot of people from Merseyside over which is always good, so Merseyside has got a nice place in our hearts."
Renovating the Family Home After Fire
The family's own home was severely damaged in a fire while they were on holiday last year. However, they recently shared they are starting renovations so they will be able to move into the property again.
While preparing the farm's holiday cottage for guests, Liz said: "The next big project is actually our house, which I didn't ever think was going to be on the list. But yeah, it'll be nice to put this energy and effort into the house now and build a home for the kids."
She added: "The twins don't remember living in it. That's how long it's been. They call it the burnt house, which is sad, really, but listen, one day we'll be able to move back in, and it'll just be their home."
Although there is still plenty of work ahead, Liz said she was eager to get started. She said: "I imagine it'll take us forever to finish it, but I guess that'll be part of our story now, won't it? I can't wait to lay some bricks, start mixing some cement, doing some hard graft. I'm excited for it."
Fletcher's Family Farm airs on Sunday at 11.30am on ITV1 and ITVX.
