Fletchers' Family Farm stars plan to rebuild their home

Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have revealed plans to rebuild their home, which was destroyed by fire last year, describing the project as the "beginning of the next chapter".

The Fletchers' Family Farm stars were away on their first family holiday with all four children when a neighbour called to tell them their farmhouse on their 120-acre site in Wincle was ablaze. Kelvin told Lorraine: "It was the stuff of nightmares. Our neighbour called us. She was in a panic, and the fire was roaring."

No one was harmed, including their livestock, but smoke damage left the property uninhabitable and in need of major repairs.

Long Delay Before Building Work Could Start

Kelvin explained that insurance regulations meant the house could not be touched for several months, delaying any building work. The couple have now said they are looking to rebuild, calling this period the "beginning of the next chapter".

Liz said: "It'll be nice to put this energy and effort into the house now and build a home for the kids. The twins don't remember living in it. That's how long it's been. They call it the burnt house, which is sad, really, but listen, one day we'll be able to move back in, and it'll just be their home."

New Lodge and Future Farm Plans

Since the fire, the couple have built a luxury residential lodge, named Fletchers' Farmhouse Lodge, on their farmland. They have also discussed further changes to the farm, with Liz proposing a maize maze and a café serving afternoon tea during a previous episode of the show.

Liz suggested dividing a field between her new project and an area for Kelvin to grow oats, a plan he called a "good plan". He added: "Liz has done a cracking job planning it all out." Fletchers' Family Farm continues every Sunday at 11.30am on ITV and ITVX.
