Fans slam James Blunt as 'worst faithful ever' on Celebrity Traitors

Celebrity Traitors fans took to social media to criticise James Blunt as the 'worst faithful ever' after an emotional murder on the BBC series. The episode, which aired on Friday, October 23, saw the traitors choose to murder Miranda Hart.

At the start of the episode, the shield holders – James Acaster, Michael Sheen, James Blunt and Joanne McNally – discussed who might be a traitor. Despite James Acaster being a traitor alongside Maya Jama and King Kenny, Michael Sheen said he trusted everyone around him.

Traitors target Miranda Hart

The traitors decided to murder Miranda Hart, with James Acaster attributing the decision to her being a 'good detective'. He explained: "She is most likely to just wake up and go 'it's James, Maya and Kenny'. That throws people the most."

Maya Jama added: "I don't know who I've become, but I feel it in my loins and Miranda is the one that makes sense."

Miranda was seen receiving the letter confirming her murder, which she immediately ripped up and refused to read. In an emotional moment, she spoke about how the show had been a boost amid her health struggles.

"No absolutely not, oh bottoms. I knew it. I'm so cross with myself. I was wholly focussed on my Joanne issues. Ultimately, in my little personal story this has been quite extraordinary, that I've been able to go back to do the things I love professionally and personally," she said.

"Like wandering a Scottish Highland, and being in nature laughing and connecting. There were times I didn't think that would be possible again."

Miranda Hart's health journey

Miranda was diagnosed with ME (Myalgic encephalomyelitis), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, in 2024. The condition, which initially made her unwell as a teenager, led her to take time away from work.

Speaking before the series began airing, Miranda told the BBC: "I haven't done much TV work for a long time, having only recently come out of long-term ill health issues and when I was offered this, my whole body sort of relaxed, I smiled, and I just wanted to jump about like a schoolgirl with joy."

"It's just fun. It's outdoors, it's games. All the stuff I love. It's play basically. And I'm passionate about encouraging people to play more generally, and this game is that in spades."

"It's a brilliant television show – the only flaw in taking part is that as a fan of the show it will be less fun to watch it with myself in it!"

Fans react to James Blunt's theory

Shortly after Miranda's exit, James Blunt claimed he thought actress Sharon Rooney was a traitor. This led many fans to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call out yet another incorrect theory from him.

@CelticChloe said: "James Blunt is the absolute worst Faithful ever #CelebrityTraitors." @losinggteeth added: "love how confidently wrong james blunt has been this whole time #CelebrityTraitors."

@taIesofbasingse wrote: "james blunt calls himself sherlock then says two traitors are his most innocent faithfuls #CelebrityTraitors." @dande_only posted: "joanne and james blunt collaborating on the worst judgement of character in the show #CelebrityTraitors."

@WAKEUPDONNlE commented: "James Blunt is absolutely the Maddy of this season isn't he? So convinced he is great at finding traitors and he's always so wrong." @MCJPeel stated: "We've lost Ross Kemp and Miranda Hart in the space of 24 hours. And James Blunt is still here comparing himself to Sherlock Holmes."
