Viewers of Celebrity Race Across the World have thrown their support behind an 'underdog' pairing they reckon could take the crown on the BBC programme. A brand new series of the thrilling competition is well underway, with four well-known faces undertaking an extraordinary 7,500 km expedition.
The celebrities, accompanied by a companion of their choosing, are tackling the gruelling race from Borneo across Southeast Asia to Australia. Famous siblings Princess, 18, and Junior, 21, Andre are amongst the contestants, alongside sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling and his son Matt.
Jeff Stelling's Quit Fears
Jeff, 71, still has a shot in the game but a sneak peek at the forthcoming episode has raised concerns he's considering throwing in the towel. In a teaser aired at the end of Wednesday's (November 4) episode, a visibly overwhelmed Jeff confesses: "I would go home now. But I can't."
Audiences will need to sit tight until next week to discover whether the beloved presenter can hang on for much longer. In the meantime, Princess and Junior appear to have captured the nation's hearts despite a shaky start to the race.
Support for the Andre Siblings
The pair were the last to arrive at the second checkpoint in the most recent episode, placing them firmly at the bottom of the leaderboard. Despite their faltering start, the young siblings have garnered enormous backing from supporters hoping they can go the distance, reports Wales Online.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan declared: "Rooting for Princess and Junior.. #raceacrosstheworld," while another agreed: "Junior and Princess to win."
A third viewer commented: "Anyone else really rooting for Princess and Junior Andre in race across the world or is it just me?" To which someone responded: "Yes I am too as they're learning so much. I love how they interact with the locals and show kindness and respect. They're doing pretty well."
Mindset and Determination
Others have been left completely impressed by the pair's mindset, as one person posted: "Junior and Princess just don't let themselves get too down about anything they realise there's a positive to every situation - impressive lovely people #raceacrosstheworld."
And a final viewer warned naysayers: "Don't count Princess and Junior out so soon. I think young folk of our era are not given enough credit. Some are more capable than people I know older than me."
Prior to appearing on the programme, the siblings confessed they had "a lot to prove". As the offspring of Katie Price and Peter Andre, Princess revealed they frequently face comparisons to their famous parents.
She told the BBC: "Everything we do, we get compared to our parents. But we actually have our own thing that we do." While Junior added: "We've kind of got a lot to prove. I'm so excited for this. I cannot wait to do this, we're going to win."
