Emmerdale trailer: horror Halloween as baby Tate disappears

A new Emmerdale trailer has teased the drama set to unfold for Kim Tate (Claire King) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) over Halloween, as Baby Tate disappears and DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) lurks in the shadows.

Kim and Graham are currently looking after Joe Tate's (Ned Porteous) son away from the village, a plan they created instead of following Joe's order to have the baby adopted. Quietly keeping Baby Tate's location a secret isn't going to last much longer, largely due to Thea, who has been sniffing around Home Farm for ages searching for something she can use against Kim, her biological mother.

Social Worker Visit Sparks Panic

This week, a social worker visited Kim and explained she has reason to believe Baby Tate has been illegally adopted. Kim was horrified and explained the tot was being looked after by her and Graham because Joe isn't coping. It was then revealed the social worker had gone to see Kim because she owed Thea a favour. Once the woman revealed she wasn't going to confirm Baby Tate's location because of confidentiality, Thea grew annoyed.

Thea appears to adopt a "do it yourself" view next week, and with her determination to bring Kim down making her slightly unhinged, she decides to go about things in a dark way. In the new trailer, Graham discovers a number of notes hanging from the ceiling in the cottage. As panic ensues over Baby Tate disappearing, Kim believes the culprits have snuck into Home Farm.

Kim's Fear and Accusation

Speaking about Kim's discovery that Baby Tate has gone missing, Claire King said: 'She can't believe it. She doesn't know if it is kidnappers wanting some ransom or whether somebody in the family has taken him. She is in complete panic mode, so she has to ring Graham immediately and find out what's happening.'

Lurking in the shadows is Thea. But before her showdown with Kim can begin, she continues her act when her mum asks for help with Baby Tate. Thea appears all too keen to help, which prompts Kim to make a startling realisation – Thea went for her in the wake of Dawn's death, making out she'd caused Dawn's death by dangerous driving, with some fabricated evidence.

Confrontation Turns Violent

Kim knows the reason – Thea stole the baby. Her theory holds water and Kim directly accuses her. But until this moment, Kim had no idea how unhinged Thea has become through her hatred of her birth mother. Thea loses it and her temper escalates rapidly.

Kim is left fearing for her life and rushes to leave. In her panic, she grabs a knife and stabs Thea.
