Emmerdale spoilers: Thea foiled as social worker finds no evidence

Emmerdale's DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) was left upset amid her mission to take down Kim (Claire King) when the social worker she'd instructed to investigate baby Tate's vanishing found no evidence of any wrongdoing.

Ramsden, the long-lost daughter of village legend Kim, is determined to destroy her biological mum by any means necessary and has cozied up to her in recent weeks as part of her twisted plot.

Joe's illegal adoption plan

Grieving the loss of his beloved Dawn, Joe (Ned Porteous) instructed Kim to have his newborn son illegally adopted but, fearing he might regret such a thing, Kim instead had Graham (Andrew Scarborough) look after the baby in a holiday cottage nearby.

Believing Kim to have sold the child, Thea instructed a social worker to pay her a visit and find out but, upon doing so, the social worker found no evidence that the baby had been illegally adopted and thus relayed this information to Thea, who was seething to have been foiled once more. It's clear that she's starting to lose control.

Other village tensions

Elsewhere, Cain (Jeff Hordley) worried about the return of Tom King (James Chase) and Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) plotted Ruby Miligan's (Beth Cordingly) downfall – and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is hiding a big secret.

If you're eager to find out what happens next then I'm afraid we've got bad news first, with no new episode of Emmerdale tomorrow. The show will instead return on Friday October 23.

Spoilers for Friday, October 23 episode

Hellbent on destroying Kim, Thea manages to secure access to her phone and downloads a string of message chains, setting off to investigate what she's uncovered.

Sadie, meanwhile, is delighted to have successfully caused tension for Ruby and husband Caleb (William Ash) in the wake of her destroying their planned dinner reservation.

Joe Tate, meanwhile, remains at odds with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), who is determined to make amends. Up at Wishing Well, Kammy (Shebz Miah) tells Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) that he's in love with her – but she instantly flees, with worries about Tom's release going around in her head.

Elsewhere, Liam is definitely hiding something – but what is it? And will Chas (Lucy Pargeter) get to the bottom of it?

Emmerdale airs these scenes Friday October 23 at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX or YouTube.
