War has broken out at Wishing Well in Emmerdale as Samson's imminent return threatens to tear the Dingle family apart. Moira invited son Matty to live with her and Cain, unaware that Samson was due for release.
Sam and Lydia were forced to tell Moira the truth, and she was appalled at the prospect of reneging on her offer to Matty and living under the same roof as Samson, given what he did.
Samson's past and Moira's refusal
Samson fell into bad company with Josh, who tormented Matty with transphobic abuse. Josh pushed Samson into Matty, who was holding a kitchen knife while on duty at The Hide. Samson was accidentally stabbed and, coerced by Josh, reported Matty and claimed he deliberately attacked him.
Samson eventually made things right and went to prison himself, but Moira has not forgotten the jail nightmare Matty suffered due to Samson's lies, and she is refusing to let him stay under her roof.
Sadie's scheme and Cain's warning
Elsewhere, Sadie King upped the ante in her bid to destroy Ruby and Caleb Miligan on behalf of Joe Tate, revealing her plan to seduce Caleb.
In Thursday's episode, tensions at Wishing Well remain high as the room Sam and Lydia had picked out for Samson has been given to Matty by Moira. The question is who will come out victorious, and whose side Cain will be on as head of the family.
Cain is taken aback to learn Sadie is staying in the village and wastes little time warning Caleb about her. Caleb reckons he's cleverer than Sadie and sure he's got nothing to worry about.
Emmerdale airs these scenes Thursday, October 15 at 8pm on ITV1 or streams from 7am on ITVX or YouTube.
