Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) confronted Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) in Emmerdale on October 25, believing he was having an affair. The suspicion grew earlier in the week when Liam declined Chas's suggestion that they spend time together.
Chas's suspicions grow
In the pub back room, Chas noticed Liam seemed distracted by his phone. She suggested they spend time together, but Liam said he was too busy with work and needed to attend a conference. When Chas offered to join him, Liam tried to discourage her by claiming she would find the conference boring.
Convinced she was being betrayed, Chas went looking for answers in the episode and got a surprise. Outside the pub, Liam got out of his car with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), which looked to Chas like the pair were returning home after spending the night together.
The truth revealed
While Manpreet confirmed the medical conference was a cover story, Liam explained that they had actually attended a murder mystery event. There was no affair. Liam then admitted, with a nervous tone, that Chas is not very good at murder mysteries, and added that her acting is not the best either.
Despite knowing things could be worse, Chas concluded she needed to make her partner's life difficult for lying to her. The episode aired on ITVX and YouTube ahead of its ITV1 broadcast.
