Belle Dingle is left devastated in upcoming Emmerdale scenes when she learns that her abusive ex-husband, Tom King, has been attacked and is in a critical condition in prison.
According to spoilers for next week, Charles Anderson arrives to tell Belle that Tom has been beaten up. As the news sinks in, Belle becomes enraged when her brother, Cain, confesses that he arranged for Samson to attack Tom, putting Samson's own prison release at risk.
Cain's confession sparks family row
Sam quickly accuses Cain of not caring about Samson, and the row intensifies dramatically when Sam launches an attack on Cain. After Cain storms off, Sam breaks down in tears. He is later crushed to discover that Samson could face a longer stretch in prison as a result of the attack.
Belle grows increasingly anxious about how Tom will react in the wake of the assault. Her boyfriend, Kammy Hadiq, vows to support her as she relives the abuse she suffered at Tom's hands, frightened that Cain might have given him an excuse to fight back.
Belle decides to visit Tom
Belle then erupts at her brothers after Sam insists that Cain move out of Wishing Well cottage. She declares that she is going to talk to Tom.
At the hospital, where Tom is being held to recover, Kammy soothes Belle's nerves, though he remains unsure about letting her go in alone. Belle believes his presence would rile Tom up, so despite his objections, Kammy agrees to give her 10 minutes before sending help.
