Craig Ingram (Matthew James Bailey) has destroyed Denzel Danes' (Jaden Ladega) life in EastEnders, and new spoilers confirm the situation will get much worse as Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) agrees to leave Walford with him.
The former detective was livid last week when he discovered a shirtless picture of Denzel on Amy's phone. Amy, who is being groomed by the villain, assured Craig that she didn't ask for the snap from Denzel, and although he believed her, Craig took shock revenge on the young lad.
Craig's cruel blackmail scheme
Using Amy's phone, Craig texted Denzel and encouraged him to send more intimate imagery, which he then used to blackmail him for money, threatening to send the photos to his family if he failed to comply. Denzel was horrified and pleaded with Amy to help him prevent the 'scammers' leaking his pics, unaware of who it was that was tormenting him.
Upon arriving home from their honeymoon, unsuspecting Howie (Delroy Atkinson) and Kim (Tameka Empson) gifted Denzel with a signet ring, which the teen subsequently sold in order to raise the funds to pay off the blackmailer. Denzel was relieved and celebrated his birthday with his loved ones, unaware that Craig was watching from afar and – jealous to see Amy with Denzel – he cruelly texted the images to Kim and Howie, breaking Denzel's heart.
What happens next in EastEnders?
New spoilers for Tuesday, October 20 reveal that the fallout of today's cliffhanger is very much at the centre of tomorrow's episode, as the Fox-Truman-Danes clan attempt to come to terms with what has happened. As revelations and shocks follow, Denzel is left with little choice but to confirm that he sold the ring to pay off the blackmailer. The question is: just how will the family react? And will Denzel find out that Craig is to blame?
Amy, meanwhile, turns to Craig in the wake of what has transpired and he sees an opportunity when she mentions her upcoming inheritance – and she agrees to leave Walford with him.
Other Walford developments
Elsewhere, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) continues to search for who Max Branning (Jake Wood) has been seeing. She turns her attention to Oscar (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) after finding out that Max is interested in No. 31. A bingo night is organised in Zoe's honour and, while at The Vic, Cindy overhears Max on the phone – and wastes little time in causing a row. Later, she makes quite a discovery.
Over at the B&B, Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) learns of Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) and Ian Beale's (Adam Woodyatt) fling while Phil (Steve McFadden) finally agrees to assist Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) with her car issues.
EastEnders airs these scenes Tuesday October 20 at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
