Delta Goodrem vows to fight on through pain on Strictly return

Delta Goodrem is set to return to Strictly Come Dancing tonight after a nasty injury forced her to take a break last week, with the Australian singer vowing to fight on through the pain.

The 41-year-old appeared emotional in a video shared hours before her comeback, breaking down in tears as she struggled with the injury. However, she has managed to recover enough to perform in this week's show.

A determination to return

Speaking in the training room earlier in the week, Goodrem said: "I was not going to go down without a fight. I had to process all the emotions pretty quickly. I definitely got a bit rocked and and a bit shocked, but I think [it helped] just working through and going 'I'm going to be there Monday.' Kai's been so amazing."

On Instagram, she posted a selection of videos from the past two weeks, writing: "I filmed little moments over the past two weeks to remind myself that even on the frustrating days, there would be progress. I was gutted when the injury happened as I've been truly loving this experience so much. It's hard to be patient when you want to be full force again but I've been listening, taking things carefully and learning to appreciate the small steps! Heading into show day feeling grateful to be able to take a few more tonight with all the incredible help from everyone around me xx"

No theme this week

For the first time in a while, there is no theme this week, meaning couples will rely solely on their dancing skills and performances rather than any prop gimmicks.

Goodrem and her professional partner Kai Widdrington will perform a Rumba to 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' by Celine Dion.

Bethany hopes to avoid dance-off

Last week saw the elimination of Dame Sarah Storey and partner Julian Caillon after they went up against Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, with a unanimous decision from the judges. Afterwards, Bethany admitted she was "devastated" that she had landed in the dance-off, so she will be hoping to avoid it tonight.

Antonia and Xu will perform an Argentine Tango to 'All The Things She Said' by Harrison.
