Delta Goodrem admits 'it's hard' ahead of Strictly return

Delta Goodrem has confirmed she will return to Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday, after a fractured rib forced her to sit out week four of the BBC contest.

The 41-year-old Australian singer, paired with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, shared a candid update on Instagram alongside footage of herself in hospital.

Recovery and frustration

In the post, Goodrem said: "I filmed little moments over the past two weeks to remind myself that even on the frustrating days, there would be progress. I was gutted when the injury happened as I've been truly loving this experience so much."

She added: "It's hard to be patient when you want to be full force again but I've been listening, taking things carefully and learning to appreciate the small steps."

Return to the ballroom

Goodrem continued: "Heading into show day feeling grateful to be able to take a few more tonight with all the incredible help from everyone around me. To all my warriors out there in your own battles I see you and am with you, we are fighters."

In the footage, she became emotional as she expressed her hopes of returning to the programme and thanked fans for their support.

Week five line-up

On Saturday's show, Goodrem will perform a rumba with Widdrington to Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back To Me Now.

All 12 remaining contestants will return to the ballroom floor for week five, with Dani Dyer dancing a salsa to Rosalia's Despecha alongside professional Nikita Kuzmin. Actress Bethany Antonia, who escaped elimination last week after finding herself in the bottom two, will perform the Argentine tango with Nancy Xu to All The Things She Said by Harrison.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.30pm and Sunday at 7.10pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
