Strictly Come Dancing contestant Dani Dyer faces a potential downfall if she cannot ignore her father in the audience, according to body language expert Judi James. Speaking on behalf of Paddy Power Bingo, James highlighted an "ominous" moment during the results show that could affect Dyer's chances of reaching the final.
Ominous Moment on the Balcony
During Sunday's results show, dance partner Nikita Kuzmin disclosed to other contestants that Dyer had been "really upset on the Saturday." James noted this as a significant moment, especially since the show is filmed in one session on the same day.
James remarked: "There was an ominous moment on the balcony during the results show when Nikita said that Dani had been 'really upset on Saturday' (Which is of course the same day as it's filmed in one session)."
Dyer had earlier confessed on the balcony: "It's been a bit of a difficult week, I think this has been my hardest one. I had a little bit of a wobble on Wednesday just because I doubt myself all the time."
Danny Dyer's Presence Could Inhibit Performance
James suggested that Danny Dyer's visible support in the audience might be hindering his daughter's performances. She noted that viewers might vote for Dani each week to catch a glimpse of the "famous Dyer charisma," especially with Ray Winstone sitting nearby.
However, James warned: "There are hints that his 'proud dad' presence might just be inhibiting Dani's moves out there on the dance floor." She observed that during their Rumba, Dani's acting did not match Nikita's intensity, describing how Nikita was "literally chewing the air to portray intense sexual longing while she was meeting this torrent of acted passion with a polite smile."
James concluded: "If Danny had been sitting there on the sun loungers around the pool on Love Island it's very unlikely that Dani would have won the show, and the same might just apply to Strictly."
Return of Delta Goodrem
The weekend also saw the return of Delta Goodrem, who had withdrawn from the previous week due to a rib injury. The BBC had confirmed that Goodrem and her partner Kai Widdrington would continue in the competition after her recovery.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday, October 25 at 6.30pm.
