Corrie's Antony Cotton Wants Sean Tully as Rovers Landlord

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has revealed he hopes his character Sean Tully will one day take over as the landlord of the Rovers Return pub. The actor shared his ambitions for Sean in a recent interview, suggesting the role could go beyond pulling pints.

Sean's Future at the Rovers

Speaking to Digital Spy, Cotton said: 'Eventually, I would love for Sean, even if it's only for a short while, to be the landlord of the Rovers, with his name above the door. That would be a real treat, maybe I'm not old enough for that, I still think that I'm 21 in my head!'

Sean has become a familiar face behind the bar at the Rovers, known for his sarcastic remarks to customers. Life has been quieter for the character recently, following a difficult period earlier this year when his son Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) was involved in an incident that left girlfriend Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) in hospital with multiple strokes.

Christmas Storyline Tease

The actor also offered a glimpse into the festive episodes of the ITV soap. 'We just filmed Christmas. I don't read any of the other stuff. I only know what I do. I'm not on Christmas Day; I'm on before, and I'm on after,' he explained.

Cotton added: 'There's a thing that happens on Christmas Day, but I'm not involved in that story, but I'm on before and after, and then New Year's. So we've just finished doing all that, which is always a bit hectic.'
